In preparation for Ronaldo's return, Madrid cruised past Real Sociedad

La Liga champions Madrid romped to a 3 - 1 win over Real Sociedad on Sunday night to secure a much needed three points to close the gap between them and Barcelona who have won their opening four games.

After disappointing back-to-back draws against Valencia and Levante at the Bernabeau dropping four months as a result, Zinedine Zidanes men took control of the game from the first minute. Young Borja Mayoral put the visitors ahead in the 18th minute before Kevin Rodrigues equalized for the hosts in the 28th minute. Madrid went ahead some minutes later after Mayoral forced an own goal through Kevin after a clinical display.

Boo boy Bale then sprinted from 73 yards out to catch up with Isco's long range pass, beat Sociedad's defender and chipped it over Rulli to make it three.

The victory came on the heels of a 73-game scoring streak and also a new club record of 11 consecutive away victory. Bale's goal made it 6 in 5 games at Anoeta.
Ronaldo returns to LA Liga action on Wednesday at the Bernabeau after scoring two goals in the Champions League last Wednesday.
